Aeros Travel to Interstate Rival

The Houston Aeros travel to San Antonio today to take on the Rampage for the third time this season. The Aeros and Rampage have split the season series, both in San Antonio.

Houston (7-6-1-2) is in third place in the South Division, while the Rampage (4-8-0-2) is in fifth in the division.

Hoston is coming off a 3-2 win against the Rockford IceHogs at Xcel Energy Center on Sunday in front of 11,175 State of Hockey fans. Johan Larsson led the Aeros with a two-goal effort, to bring his season goal total to five. His third period shorthanded goal was the team’s first shorty on the year. Justin Fontaine added his fifth goal of the season and is tied for the team lead in points with Jason Zucker (7-6=13). Matt Hackett made 34 saves for his fourth win on the year. The Aeros will return home on Sunday, hosting the Abbotsford Heat.

Solar Bears Look to Rebound After Thanksgiving

The Orlando Solar Bears were blanked by the Gwinnett Gladiators on Thanksgiving, 1-0. However, Orlando gets a chance to rebound tonight, again in Gwinnett. Orlando is winless in five games against Gwinnett (0-4-1-0), but has lost four of those games by just one goal.

The Solar Bears (8-7-2-1) are third in the South Division.

On Monday, F Ryan Ginand and LW Nick Petersen were reassigned to the Bears after a stint with the Aeros.

Bussieres’ Big Week

Raphael Bussieres was named one of the Telus 3 stars for week of Nov 12-18 in QMJHL. After a sluggish start to the season, the Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft The Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft totaled 10 points (4-6=10) and a +3 rating in three games with Baie-Comeau. In 23 games, the forward has 32 points (13-19=32) and owns a plus-14 rating.
