Fantasy Spotlight: MIN at NSH

by Carly Peters / Minnesota Wild

Fantasy Pick: Martin Havlat

It has been a while since Wild winger Martin Havlat was highlighted in our game-day fantasy spotlight. It's not because we haven't thought Marty had a good chance of lighting the lamp in the evening's game, in fact, it's the opposite. Havlat's been so good, so consistent, for the past two months, we figured you're knowledgable enough to have him in your fantasy lineup every night. Plus, we figured we should proabably give a few other deserving Wild players some fantasy spotlight love.

Apologies to the rest of the Wild roster, but for tonight's game, we just had to go back to the obvious and give Marty a special shout out. Not even Brent Burns being named to his first NHL All-Star Game (Congrats, Burnsie!) could make us get past this awesome stat: Havlat owns 35 points (13-22=35) in 26 games against tonight's opponent, the Nashville Predators, his most against any NHL team.

In addition to having some magic against the Preds, Marty has seven points (2-5=7) in his last seven games and 21 points (7-14=21) in his last 22 games, including six multi-point games. He leads the Wild this season with 28 assists, 38 points (10-28=38) and 126 shots in 42 games. Minnesota is also 6-1-2 on the year when he scores a goal.
