Fantasy Spotlight: MIN at EDM
by Carly Peters / Minnesota WildFantasy Pick: Andrew Brunette
Andrew Brunette might be the second-oldest player in the Wild locker room, but don't think that means he doesn't still have the desire to win that drives so many young players to go all-out on the ice. Just look at Brunette's diving effort to score the eventual game winner in the 4-0 Wild win against the Vancouver Canucks Sunday.
Having defeated one Western Canadian, Northwest Division rival, the Wild will try for the same outcome, facing two more in two nights, starting with a battle against the Oilers tonight in Edmonton. A big part of the Wild's success might be Bruno, who leads all Wild players with 41 points (17-24=41) in 61 games against the Oilers. He has also scored a goal in back-to-back games for the first time this season, and the Wild is 7-1-1 on the year when he finds the back of the net.
Brunette is also just one goal shy of hitting the 250-goal marker in his NHL career, and one point short of reaching 300 with the Wild (112-187=299). Bruno is tied for the team lead with six power-play goals and three game-winning goals, while ranking fifth on the Wild with 24 points (11-13=24) in 45 games this season.
