Fantasy Spotlight: MIN at DAL

by Carly Peters / Minnesota Wild

Fantasy Spotlight: Antti Miettinen

While every Wild player and fan has certainly missed Mikko Koivu since he broke his finger, probably no one has felt his absence him more than the Captain's linemates, Antti Miettinen and Andrew Brunette. Since Koivu was put on injured reserve, centers have been shuffled to and from the top line, trying to find a proper fit with a line that was all but set in stone the entire season. Over the past few games, Warren Peters has been stationed between Mittens and Bruno, and the pair finally seem to be getting back to the type of performance we got used to from them when Koivu was in the lineup.

In addition to becoming comfortable with his new centerman, Miettinen will be playing his former team tonight in Dallas, a team he has played well against since leaving the Stars in 2008. Mittens scored a goal in the team's first meeting this season in Dallas. In fact, the winger has seven points (3-4=7) in nine games against the Stars since leaving Dallas as a free agent after the 2007-08 season.

On the year, Miettinen has 30 points (11-19=30) in 59 games, including three game-winning goals.
