Fantasy Spotlight: MIN at COL

by Carly Peters / Minnesota Wild

Fantasy Pick: Marek Zidlicky

If there is one player the Wild has missed most this season to injury, it might be defenseman Marek Zidilicky. Between his ability to shut down opposing stars, man the point on the Minnesota power play and plain ol' getting on the score sheet, Zidlicky has been awesome for the Wild this year.

He's missed six games this season with lower-body injuries, and the Wild is 1-4-1 in those contests. Minnesota is 3-0-0 in the games in which he returns to the lineup.

Thankfully for the Wild, he's again healthy and will be in the lineup for  tonight's contest in Colorado. Zidlicky ranks sixth on Minnesota and second among Wild blueliners with 11 points (3-8=11) in 15 games this season. He also ranks second on the team averaging 22:30 TOI/game.

In yesterday's 5-2 win over Nashville, Zidlicky started the scoring for Minnesota and also added two assists in the contest. It was his second three-point game this season and 18th of his career.

In addition to his great play of late, Zidlicky does well against the Avs: Zidlicky had four points (0-4=4) in six games against the Avalanche last season and has historically done well against Colorado, totaling 19 points (4-15=19) in 26 career contests against the Avs.
