On Saturday, October 10, at the Xcel Energy Center, over 750 hockey players and their families were the recipients of more than 2,000 pieces of hockey gear that was collected during the Used Hockey Equipment Drive. There was enough equipment to fill 1 1/2 semi-trailers and nearly every item was gone but a few pairs of breezers.
The drive went a long way to providing gear to those who want to stay in hockey or begin to play for the first time. The Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Hockey and Let's Play Hockey would like to thank everyone involved with the drive.
"I can not express my gratitude enough to the entire hockey community who came forward to make this an outstanding success. We are already planning to have a drive again next season," said Let's Play Hockey publisher Doug Johnson.
