Thanks to his hot play with the Minnesota Wild, the awards and accolades keep marching towards netminder Devan Dubnyk. The netminder has been named the National Hockey League’s Third Star of the month of March.
Dubnyk went 11-3-0 starting all 14 games for Minnesota in March including a 6-0-0 record with a 1.15 GAA and a .966 SV% in six road starts (stopped 199 of 206 shots faced). He led NHL goalies during the month with 11 wins and ranked third in GAA and SV%. Allowing two goals or less in 11 of his 14 starts.
Dubnyk is 26-6-1 with a 1.70 GAA, .939 SV%, five shutouts and two assists in 34 straight starts since joining the Wild Jan. 15. He has allowed two goals or less in 26 of those 34 contests. Overall, he is 35-11-3 and ranks second in the NHL in GAA (2.05) and in SV% (.930), T-4th in shutouts (6) and sixth in wins (35) in 53 games (50 starts) this season.
He becomes the only Wild player to be part of the NHL’s Monthly Three Stars twice in a season/career. He was also named the NHL First Star for February, NHL First Star of the Week (2/9 and 3/29), NHL Third Star of the week (2/2).
