CALGARY COACH DARRYL SUTTER QUOTES
Saturday, January 14, 2006 versus Minnesota
Your thoughts on the game tonight.
“No different than the last three games we played, but we got better games from the guys that needed to play better. We had a couple tough breaks in the last couple games, but the guys seemed to play more patient.”
Talk about the special teams play tonight.
“We did a good job on the penalty kill. Minnesota’s special teams are arguably the best in the league. That’s why they are a good team. We stuck to our game plan tonight and got a big win.”
Do you do anything different against Minnesota.
“Not really. One of our biggest losses of the year was against these guys. But you play the team so often in your division, that if you can get 10 points from every team in your division, you should win the division.”
Seems like you guys came out strong tonight.
“Yeah, we played a little better tonight. This is our fourth game in a four game road trip, and we played real well in the third period. We have to stay positive and play hard after loosing the previous three games. They guys felt this was a big win for us.”
How has it been since you joined the team from Florida.
“I was struggling with Florida. It’s nice to get a fresh start with a good team. The guys have been great. I just want to help the team win as many games as we can. The better I play the more confidence I have.”
Do you feel this team is a blue collar team.
“Yes, we have a team that works hard, but it starts with great goal tending and very good defense. Like tonight. We worked hard, showed patience, and got the two points. We are in a great division. Every game is a battle, and every win is huge. You have to be ready every game and show patience for 60 minutes.”
