Ilya Bryzgalov will start in net for the Wild tonight.
The netminder was acquired Tuesday, in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick, to add some needed depth between the pipes as goaltender Niklas Backstrom has been shut down for the foreseeable future.
Bryzgalov adds a lengthy resume to the Wild lineup, including playoff experience that the Wild hope will help solidify its postseason push — in tandem with standout rookie goaltender Darcy Kuemper.
The 33-year-old netminder made 20 appearances with Edmonton earlier this season, registering a 5-8-5 record with a 3.01 goals-against average and .908 save percentage.
In 17 starts against the Blues, Bryzgalov has a 6-11-1 with a 3.22 GAA, a .895 SV% and two shutouts.
