Wild coach Bruce Boudreau's newly-minted junior hockey team will host Minnesota Wild Night this Friday, Sept. 22, at Coon Rapids Ice Center.
The Minnesota Blue Ox's inaugural home opener is scheduled for 7 p.m. and includes a variety of Wild-related activities:
- Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon and forward Tyler Ennis will be on hand signing autographs.
- Mascot Nordy will make an appearance.
- The Blue Ox will raffle off 50 four-packs of tickets to the Wild's Sept. 30 home preseason game against Dallas.
- Fans will also have the chance to win new Wild jerseys signed by the entire team, and Blue Ox jerseys as well.
The Tier 3 United States Premier Hockey League club takes on the Minnesota Moose in the Blue Ox's first-ever contest in Coon Rapids. Boudreau and his wife Crystal purchased a stake in the newly-formed organization this past offseason, and Crystal handles a number of administrative roles.
Boudreau's son Brady is a goaltender on the team.
Tickets can be purchased at the Coon Rapids Ice Center box office starting at 5 p.m. Friday. The rink's address is 11000 Crooked Lake Blvd. N.W. For ticket pricing and additional information, please click here.
