The Minnesota Wild’s practice on Tuesday was scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Xcel Energy Center. But at 1:15, assistant coach Mario Tremblay was alone on the rink, firing pucks into an empty net.
"We had a reunion to go over the tape from last night," said Wild head coach Jacques Lemaire.
When the Wild emerged from the locker room for its practice, the team skated for well over an hour, working on basic drills again. The atmosphere was quiet after the club suffered its first decidedly lopsided loss of the season.
The Wild has two games remaining on its seven game homestand, and both game will be played without Pascal Dupuis.
Dupuis left the Ottawa game in the first period after colliding with Dany Heatley. Dupuis was diagnosed with a strained shoulder and is expected to miss 10 to 14 days.
