Aeros Gain Point

The Houston Aeros earned one point in two games on the weekend, closing out a four-game home stretch.

Friday, the Aeros were downed in a shootout, 5-4, to the Lake Erie Monsters. Houston trailed in the third period, but Jason Zucker tied the game with only 1:16 in regulation to force overtime. Forwards Justin Fontaine, Chad Rau and Nick Palmieri all scored for Houston in the loss. For Eden Prairie native Rau, the goal was his 50th career tally with the Aeros. Houston goalie Matt Hackett (2-4-2) stopped 27 of 31 in regulation and two of three shooters in the shootout loss. To read the recap, click here.

In Saturday’s contest, the Aeros were upended by interstate rival Texas Stars, 4-2. In the loss, Zucker scored his second goal on the weekend, giving the Wild prospect five on the year. Winger Kris Foucault added a power play goal, his third on the season. Defenseman Chay Genoway chipped in, assisting on both goals. Houston goalie Darcy Kuemper (3-2-0) stopped 21 of 25 in the defeat. The full game recap can be found, here.

Houston hits the road, facing the San Antonio Rampage at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.
