Aeros Assign Ovington To Austin

HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League have assigned rookie defenseman Chris Ovington to the Central Hockey League’s Austin Ice Bats, the teams announced Monday.

Ovington, 26 (8/15/80), has posted three assists and 41 penalty minutes in 25 games with the Aeros this season. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound native of Vernon, B.C., also saw action in four regular season games and seven playoff contests for Houston last season. He notched two helpers in the post-season. Ovington helped the University of Alberta to its second straight Canadian College national championship last season, while also being named Canada West’s Top Defenseman.
