Once again, the Minnesota Wild's prospects will be at Xcel Energy Center for Development Camp July 9 to 14.
Fans can come cool off and enjoy two scrimmages that are free and open to the public at Xcel Energy Center. The open scrimmages (30-minute running time halves) will occur on Saturday, July 11 at 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday, July 14 at 6:30 p.m. Gate 1 will open at 2 p.m. on July 11 and at 6 p.m. on July 14.
The camp will focus on the development of the organization’s top young prospects in both on-ice and off-ice settings. Iowa Wild Head Coach John Torchetti, Minnesota Wild Director of Player Development Brad Bombardir, Player Development Coach Richard Park and Skating Skills Coach Andy Ness will lead the on-ice sessions. Minnesota’s coaching staff will also meet the players and work with them off the ice. In addition, players will participate in daily strength and conditioning education sessions, as well as other off-ice topics, including nutritional instruction.
A total of 46 players are scheduled to attend the Wild’s 2015 Development Camp, including 23 selected by Minnesota in the NHL Entry Draft. Players scheduled to attend include: Brady Brassart, Brody Hoffman, Mario Lucia, Zach Palmquist, Avery Peterson, Zack Mitchell, Mike Reilly and Alex Tuch, along with six players selected in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
