by Mike Doyle / Minnesota Wild

After each week during the regular season,, along with our friends from Dairy Queen, asked fans to pick the Top Play from each week. So how do we figure out the best of the best? A fan vote in a winner-take-all-style tournament bracket. Well, after a month-long tournament collecting votes from you the fans, the Final results are in with OMParise taking home the title of Top Play of the Year. Get a PDF of the final bracket, here.

OMParise (51.09) defeats Koivu's Tic-Tap-Tip-in

If there was a constant theme with the 2013-14 Minnesota Wild, it was teamwork. So it’s only fitting that the two finalists were spectacular passing plays resulting in effortless tip-in goals.

It seemed like OMParise and Koivu’s Tic-Tac-Tip-in were destined to meet in the Finals, on a collision course guided by fans to ultimately decide’s Top Play of the Year, presented by Dairy Queen.

It’s no surprise that the Final vote was so close, as both plays fit the description for Top Play: speed, style, skill and staying power (and a cool name). It was a legendary battle, however, in the end, it was OMParise that stormed out of the Parise Bracket and walked away with the championship title belt. Although Mikko Koivu didn’t have a bracket named after him, he probably should’ve, he was in on both of the plays, setting up Zach Parise with a wrap-around pass against the Calgary Flames. Congratulations, OMParise, the Top Play of the Year, presented by Dairy Queen.
