Canucks lunar new year

The Vancouver Canucks hopped into the Lunar New Year in style.

The Canucks wore special warmup jerseys that celebrated the Year of the Rabbit before their game against the Chicago Blackhawks at Rogers Arena on Tuesday.
Trevor Lai, an award-winning local artist, designed the jerseys.

The red warmups played off the Canucks flying skate logo jerseys and featured a rabbit in place of the skate.

Mayor Ken Sim, Vancouver's first Chinese-Canadian mayor, performed the ceremonial puck drop between Canucks captain Bo Horvat and Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews.

Vancouver's Lunar New Year warmups are up for auction with the proceeds benefiting Elimin8hate, a racial equity and inclusive society for Asian Canadians, and Vancouver Chinatown Foundation.
