NHL teams get in on 'Barbie' vs. 'Oppenheimer' fun

The single question on everyone's mind on July 21, 2023 was a deeply philosophical one:

Barbie or Oppenheimer?

Two of the most anticipated movies of the summer - with plots that couldn't possibly seem more opposite of each other - were released nationwide on Friday. The contrasting styles sparked a million memes, a phenomenon now widely known as "Barbenheimer." Users would share photos of themselves dressed in wildly different clothes but nevertheless would end up going to see both movies.

Some NHL teams got in on the fun via social media. The Winnipeg Jets aced it with defenseman Josh Morrissey.

The Nashville Predators used goalie Juuse Saros to perfection.

The Blackhawks went with forward Reese Johnson mean mugging in one shot and then smiling with a puppy in the other.

The Boston Bruins were clear where their movie ticket money is going, sharing a picture of forward David Pastrnak with bright pink framed sunglasses from the

But much the way they ended the NHL season, the Vegas Golden Knights finished this one off with the biggest W, posting

Ivan Barbashev.

After all, Barbie vs. Oppenheimer and the Stanley Cup can have just one winner in the year 2023.
