Cecconi and USA top Gurianov and Russia, 3-2

Here's a look at how Dallas Stars prospects playing at the 2017 World Junior Championship in Montreal and Canada fared on Thursday. Stars prospects Joe Cecconi and Denis Gurianov went head-to-head as the USA took on Russia, and the U.S. came out on top 3-2.

Defenseman Joe Cecconi (United States): Cecconi had no points, no shots on goal and even rating in 12:43 of playing time in the USA's 3-2 win over Russia. Cecconi was the seventh defenseman for the USA in Thursday's game. He has two assists and is averaging 12:29 of ice time in three games at the tournament.

Forward Fredrik Karlstrom (Sweden): Karlstrom had no points, no shots and an even rating in Sweden's 3-1 win over Finland Thursday. Karlstrom, who had been the 13th forward the first two games, played on the third line against Finland and played 10:10. He has no points and a plus-one rating in three games.

Defenseman Ondrej Vala (Czech Republic): Vala had no points, one shot on goal and an even rating in Czech Republic's 3-2 overtime loss to Denmark. Vala played on the Czech's third defensive pair and logged 16:02 of ice time. He has no points and is averaging 14:12 of ice time in three games.
