Stars center Radek Faksa had a productive day at the World Championship in Slovakia on Sunday, tallying three points (one goal, two assists) as Czech Republic rolled over Austria, 8-0, for its third straight win.
Faksa's goal 6:30 into the first period gave the Czechs a 1-0 lead and held up as the game-winner. Washington's Jakub Vrana won a puck battle behind the Austrian net and set up Faksa, who scored from the right faceoff circle for his first career goal at the World Championship.
Faksa also assisted on a power-play goal that extended the Czech lead to 4-0 in the second period and then picked up an assist an even-strength goal pushed the lead to 8-0 in the third.
