Radek Faksa and the Czech Republic are moving onto the semifinals at the World Championship in Slovakia, but John Klingberg and Sweden's bid for a third straight gold medal is over.
The Czechs defeated Germany, 5-1, in Thursday's quarterfinals and will play Canada in Saturday's semifinal round. Canada defeated Switzerland, 3-2, in overtime Thursday.

Faksa had no points, one shot on goal, a plus-1 rating and won 9 of 15 faceoffs in 14:33 of ice time Thursday while centering the second line with Dmitrij Jaskin and Filip Chytil.
The Stars center has four points (one goal, three assists) and a plus-2 rating in five games while averaging 15:57 of ice time per game. He's won 46 of 78 faceoffs (59.0 percent).
Jan Kovar had two goals and one assist for the Czechs, who have won seven of eight games at the tournament.
Sweden's quest for a third straight gold medal at the tournament ended with a 5-4 overtime loss to Finland in Thursday's quarterfinal round. Sakari Manninen scored 1:37 into overtime for the Finns, who will play Russia in Saturday's semifinals. Russia defeated the United States, 4-3, Thursday.
Klingberg, who played on the second defense pair with Nashville's Mattias Ekholm, scored one goal, had one shot on goal and a minus-2 rating in 22:16 of ice time in Thursday's game. Klingberg scored on the power play early in the first period to tie the game 1-1, taking a cross-ice pass from Toronto's William Nylander and scoring on a one-timer from the left circle.

The Stars defenseman finished the tournament with four points (two goals, two assists) and a minus-one rating in five games and led Sweden in average ice time at 23:14 per game.
