USA Hockey Tier II Girls National Championships Held in North Texas

The Dr Pepper StarCenters located in Frisco, Farmers Branch and McKinney are set to host the 2012 USA Hockey Tier II Girls National Championships. The tournament will run from March 28-April 1, with the Dr Pepper StarCenter McKinney hosting the championship games on Sunday, April 1. Games are scheduled to be held in Frisco from March 28-30, in Farmers Branch from March 28-31 and in McKinney from March 28-April 1.

The tournament consists of 48 teams from across the country, with 12 teams representing each of the four age divisions. The four age divisions represented are girls aged 19 and under, 16 and under, 14 and under and 12 and under.

The tournament is hosted by the Alliance Hockey Club, a local travel hockey association that has a team competing in each age division. The club, which operates 16 separate youth hockey teams, is based out of Dr Pepper StarCenter Valley Ranch.

The tournament will host its opening ceremonies on Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, TX.
