Dallas Stars' General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has placed center Pierre Turgeon on the injured reserve list retro-active to Nov. 28 and recalled center Gavin Morgan from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL). Morgan was on loan to Hershey from the Stars.
Turgeon, 34, missed the last game with a hip strain and is day-to-day with the injury. The 6-1, 199-pound center has appeared in 21 games with the Stars this season, registering one goal and six assists for seven points.
Morgan, 27, has played in 23 games with Hershey this season, posting five goals and five assists for 10 points with 65 penalty minutes. Among team leaders, he is first in penalty minutes and is tied for first in power play goals (2). The 5-11, 190-pound center has played the past three seasons with the Utah Grizzlies (AHL). He had his best offensive season with Utah in 2002-03, recording 15 goals and 24 assists for 39 points with 244 penalty minutes in 73 games.
Morgan is scheduled to join the Stars (11-11-3-0) on Wednesday.
