Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has activated goaltender Ron Tugnutt from the injured reserve list and then assigned him to the Utah Grizzlies, the Stars' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Tugnutt, 36, was recalled from Utah on Jan. 15 and placed on injured reserve after suffering a groin injury with the Grizzlies. In three games with Utah, Tugnutt posted an 0-2-1 record with a 3.36 goals-against-average and a .878 save percentage. In five games this season with Dallas, he has posted a 1-3-0 record with a 2.57 goals-against-average and a .889 save percentage. The 5-11, 165-pound goaltender was acquired by Dallas from Columbus with a second round pick in exchange for a first round pick on June 18, 2002.
