Dallas Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen, who left Tuesday’s game against Los Angeles with a groin injury, practiced briefly today in Frisco and is questionable for Friday’s game in Nashville.
“He is going to travel with us and he is still day-to-day,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “It’s his groin. He’s day-to-day and he could be a game player tomorrow. We’ll see how that plays out.”
Lehtonen spent about ten minutes in net taking shots, before heading off to the locker room. With the Stars playing back-to-back games this weekend, chances are Lehtonen will play only one of the two games if he is ready to go.
If Lehtonen doesn’t start against the Predators, then Richard Bachman will get the nod in net. Bachman stopped all 22 shots he faced in Tuesday’s 5-1 win over the Kings. Prior to Tuesday’s appearance, Bachman had seen 2:32 of playing and had faced no shots at the NHL level over a 23-day span.
