The Texas Stars picked up five of a possible six points over the past week, posting a 2-0-1 record. The Stars are 7-2-1 on the season and currently rank third in the West Division based on points percentage, which will determine the standings this season since all teams will not play the same number of games. Texas center Devin Shore raked in some big AHL honors. And in the ECHL, Dallas goaltending prospect Philippe Desrosiers had a big week. Here’s the latest on Dallas’ minor league affiliates.

After a scoreless overtime period, Milwaukee won the shootout 2-1. Jason Dickinson and Travis Morin also scored in regulation for the Stars and Devin Shore scored the lone shootout goal. John Muse got the start in goal and stopped 43 of 46 shots and then turned away two of four in the shootout.

Shore named AHL’s Player of the Month
Texas center Devin Shore was named the AHL’s Player of the Month for October after registering 11 points (eight goals, three assists) in nine games. Shore, a rookie, registered points in eight of nine games during the month. He currently ranks second in the AHL in goals.
“I don’t know if that is going to keep up. That is a little more than my frequent pace regardless of the level I am playing,” Shore said of his goal scoring in the AHL. “I just try to take the puck to the net. If you take the puck to the net, then usually good things can happen. Goal scoring isn’t the big deal; you just try to take the plays as they happen. You are not thinking about scoring or getting points. You are thinking about making strong plays and having fun out there. It’s going right now and hopefully it continues but I am just trying to make strong plays out there.”
Shore was called up to the Dallas Stars on Sunday and is with the NHL club on its current road trip.
