The Texas Stars won both their games last week, sweeping a weekend series with the Milwaukee Admirals. The Stars have won five of their last six games and are 29-19-7, ranking third in the AHL's Pacific Division.

Friday, February 23: Texas 3, Milwaukee 1

Mike McKenna stopped 36 shots and Brian Flynn tallied one goal and one assist as Texas defeated Milwaukee, 3-1, at H-E-B Center on Friday night. Gavin Bayreuther and Denis Gurianov also scored goals. Gurianov's power-play goal at 8:30 of the third period gave Texas a 2-0 lead and proved to be the game-winner. Justin Dowling chipped in two assists for the Stars, who won for the fourth time in five games (4-1-0).

Saturday, February 24: Texas 5, Milwaukee 2

Mike McKenna stopped 35 shots and five different Texas players scored goals as the Stars defeated Milwaukee, 5-2, in Cedar Park on Saturday to sweep the weekend series from the Admirals. Milwaukee led 1-0 after one period, but Texas scored the next five goals, including four in the second period. Brent Regner, Sheldon Dries, Andrew O'Brien, Travis Morin, and Justin Dowling scored goals for Texas, which won for the fifth time in the last six games (5-1-0).

Idaho Steelheads

The Idaho Steelheads won two of three games last week to improve 32-18-6 on the season. The Steelheads rank second in the ECHL's Mountain Division. Stars goaltending prospect Philippe Desrosiers started all three games for Idaho and stopped 75 of 80 shots, including all 21 shots he faced in a 3-0 shutout win over Rapid City. Desrosiers is 22-8-3 with a 2.53 goals against average and .912 save percentage.
