by Mark Stepneski / Dallas Stars

The Texas Stars went 1-2-0-0 last week, but they did clinch a playoff spot. It’s the third time Texas has made the playoffs in its four-year existence.

The Stars, 40-19-5-6, remain atop the AHL’s Western Conference, but their lead over second place Toronto is down to two points. Both teams have six games remaining. Their lead over Charlotte for the Southeast Division crown is currently seven points.

Brett Ritchie scored his first professional goal for Texas, but Oklahoma City rallied from a 2-0 deficit to top the Stars, 3-2, at Cedar Park Center.

Ritchie, who joined the Stars earlier in the week after his junior season in the Ontario Hockey League ended, scored off a backhand shot 2:06 into the game to give the Stars a 1-0 lead. Defenseman Mike Commodore, playing in his first game for Texas, scored 55 seconds later to make it a 2-0 game.

But Oklahoma City scored once in the second to make it a 2-1 game, tied it with 4:39 remaining in the third and then won it with 15 seconds remaining.

Jack Campbell got the start in goal and stopped 26 of 29 shots.
