The Dallas Stars announced today that the National Hockey League team will feature a special "Hockey Rules" seating section at 13 select home games for fans to learn more about the game of hockey and what to watch for when attending a game live at American Airlines Center. The Dallas Morning News and 97.1 KEGL are sponsoring the new program. "Hockey Rules" will debut this Wednesday, October 29 vs. the Calgary Flames.

"As popular as the Dallas Stars are, there are still a lot of people out there that have an interest in the game of hockey but would like to learn more about it," said Stars Executive Vice President of Marketing Bryan Perez. "This new 'Hockey Rules' program gives fans, both new and old, the opportunity to come to a Stars game and learn how to watch hockey live and enhance their experience and enjoyment of being at the game.

"We're hopeful that fans who have never been to a hockey game will take advantage of this fun program to learn about this great game and become regulars at American Airlines Center during hockey season."

Fans who participate in the "Hockey Rules" program will see a 10-minute hockey video 45 minutes prior to the game to help illustrate the basics of the game, as well as give some fun facts from behind the scenes at a Stars home game. Following the video, the fans will participate in a hockey question and answer session (Q&A) with Dr Pepper StarCenter hockey staff members, giving these ticket holders the opportunity to ask specific hockey questions.

Prior to going to their seats, fans will pick up a "Guide to the Game" -- a special printed handout by the Dallas Morning News that features primary rules explanations, answers to frequently asked questions, and hockey commentary by Morning News NHL writer Mike Heika. Fans will receive a voucher with their "Hockey Rules" ticket with instructions to pick up their "Guide to the Game."

Tickets for seats in the "Hockey Rules" sections at Dallas Stars home games start at $25. There is no extra charge for fans to purchase tickets in these sections. Fans interested in sitting in "Hockey Rules" sections should inform a sales representative when purchasing their seats. Fans can call 214-GO STARS or buy in person at select Dr Pepper StarCenters and the American Airlines Center box office. The 13 Dallas Stars home games that will feature "Hockey Rules" are:
