About the Stars

The Stars (9-8-6) lost 4-3 in overtime at St. Louis Monday. The Stars overcame a 2-0 deficit in the game and tied it with 50 seconds remaining in regulation on Jamie Oleksiak's second goal of the game. But Vladimir Tarasenko scored in the extra period to give St. Louis the win and drop the Stars to 1-6 in three-on-three OT this season.

"It wasn't pretty, but we got a point. That's a positive," said Stars captain Jamie Benn, who tallied one goal and two assists. "I like how we found a way to score late, but overtime is killing us right now."

The Stars have picked up points in eight of their past ten games (5-2-3).

Tuesday's game is the second of a four-game road trip for the Stars.

Injuries: D Johnny Oduya (lower body), RW Jiri Hudler (illness), C/LW Mattias Janmark (knee) and RW Ales Hemsky (hip) are on injured reserve.

About the Red Wings

The Red Wings are 2-0-1 in their past three games after going 2-8-1 in their previous eleven.

"It's encouraging for sure. When you're starting to play good hockey you can see it, and I think we're starting to play good hockey,'' Detroit coach Jeff Blashill told media. "I really like our line combinations. I think they mesh well together."

Detroit lost two players in Saturday's game. Defenseman Brendan Smith (knee) and forward Tyler Bertuzzi (ankle) were both placed on injured reserve Monday. Detroit recalled forward Tomas Jurco from a conditioning assignment in the AHL on Monday. Jurco had been out with a back injury.
