Stars Recall Larsen; Barch Placed on Injured Reserve

FRISCO, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Philip Larsen from the Texas Stars, Dallas’ primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The team also announced that RW Krystofer Barch has been placed on Injured Reserve with a foot injury, retroactive to Dec. 2.

Larsen, 20, has appeared in 18 games for Texas this season, earning nine assists with four penalty minutes and a +2 rating. He was recalled by Dallas earlier this season and appeared in one game (Oct. 28 vs. LA, earning one assist). Larsen was selected by Dallas in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Barch, 30, has appeared in 13 games for the Stars this season, going scoreless with 17 penalty minutes. He was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 18, 2006.

The Stars take on the Minnesota Wild tonight at 7 pm at American Airlines Center (TXA 21, Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket).
