DALLAS STARS RECALL DEFENSEMAN JANIK FROM ROCKFORD (AHL)
The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Doug Janik from a conditioning assignment with the Rockford Ice Hogs in the American Hockey League (AHL). In four games with Rockford, Janik posted two assists and four penalty minutes.
Janik, 28, has appeared in 13 games for Stars this season, earning one assist with two penalty minutes. He was claimed off waivers by Dallas from the Chicago Blackhawks on October 2, 2008.
The native of Agawam, Mass., has appeared in 159 career NHL games with Buffalo, Tampa Bay and Dallas, and has recorded three goals and 13 assists for 16 points, with 121 penalty minutes. Originally selected by Buffalo (No. 55 overall) in the 1999 Entry Draft, Janik has also skated in six Stanley Cup Playoff games, posting a goal and two penalty minutes.
