Stars coach Lindy Ruff put the line of Antoine Roussel, Cody Eakin and Ryan Garbutt back together for Friday night’s game against the New York Rangers, and it paid some dividends.
That line was the Stars’ best on the night, producing both Dallas goals in the game. All three players were a plus-two on the night.
“I thought they were fabulous,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “Skated well, backed them off. I thought all three of them gave us a tremendous game.”
Along with the two goals, the trio created some other good chances including an Eakin shot that rang off the post in the third period with the game tied 2-2. The three combined for six shots on goal and a total 15 shots directed towards the net.
“I think the last few games we haven’t been at our best,” Eakin said. “We are at our best when we are all moving our feet and shooting the puck, making it hard on the defense and I think we did that tonight for the most part.”
