Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that right wing Jere Lehtinen has been placed on the team's injured reserve list, retroactive to October 11. By rule, Lehtinen must sit out of any NHL games for a minimum of seven days from the date of the injury. The move gives Dallas 22 players currently on its active roster.
Lehtinen is suffering from back spasms and is listed as week-to-week. He appeared in Dallas' first two games of the season and has not been in the lineup since.
The Stars depart this afternoon on a two-game road trip that will see them visit Detroit on Friday (6:30 PM CDT, Fox Sports Net), and Columbus on Saturday (6 PM CDT, kdfi 27). The team will then return to Dallas and host the Calgary Flames on Wednesday at American Airlines Center (7:30 PM CST, kdfi 27).
