Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the National Hockey League club has recalled right wing David Oliver from the Utah Grizzlies -- Dallas' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). To make room for Oliver on Dallas' 23-man roster, defenseman John Erskine was placed on the injured reserve list with a slight ankle injury, retroactive to December 28.

Oliver, 32, has appeared in 31 games for the Grizzlies this season, scoring five goals and 12 assists for 17 points with 12 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 190-pound winger has appeared in 194 career NHL games, recording 42 goals and 44 assists for 86 points. Oliver played in six regular season games for Dallas last season (0-3-3) and six playoff games for the Stars (going scoreless).

Erskine, 23, has appeared in 31 games for the Stars this season, earning 0-1-1 point with 79 penalty minutes.

Oliver joined the Stars in Los Angeles today and will be available to play this evening vs. the Kings (9:30 PM CT, FSN).
