Dallas Stars' General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has placed defenseman Philippe Boucher on the injured reserve list retro-active to Nov. 28 and recalled defenseman Jeff MacMillan from the Utah Grizzlies, the Stars' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Boucher, 30, suffered a fractured left orbital bone on Nov. 28 vs. New Jersey and is out indefinitely with the injury. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks. The 6-3, 221-pound defenseman has played in 23 games with the Stars this season, registering three goals and four assists for seven points with a +6 rating.
MacMillan, 24, has appeared in 21 games with the Grizzlies this season, posting one goal and three assists for four points with 22 penalty minutes. He is tied for first on the team in game-winning goals (1). In two preseason contests with the Stars in 2003, MacMillan collected one assist.
The 6-3, 206-pound defenseman has played the last two full seasons with Utah, posting 15 points both in 2001-02 (6-9-15) and in 2002-03 (8-7-15). The Stars' seventh round selection (215th overall) in the 1999 Entry Draft, MacMillan has accumulated 278 penalty minutes with Utah over the past two seasons.
MacMillan is scheduled to join the Stars (11-11-3-0) on Tuesday
