About the Stars

The Stars (18-17-3) won their second straight game, rallying for a 5-4 shootout win at San Jose Sunday. The Stars overcame 2-0 and 4-2 deficits in the game. Alex Chiasson scored two goals. Jamie Benn had two assists and scored the lone goal of the shootout.

“That was incredible,” said Chiasson. “Down by two goals twice and we came back twice in the game. We just kept believing.”

The Stars enter Tuesday’s game four points behind eighth place Detroit with a game in hand.

The Stars’ last meeting with the Kings (March 31 in Dallas) did not go well. The Stars lost 3-2 and were outshot 40-15.

“We’re hungry to play. It’s going to be a little bit more of a direct game,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “The last time we played the turnovers were 35-5, that’s not going to happen. We’re going to be direct and physical, and I think it is going to be a heck of a game.”

Kari Lehtonen will start in goal Tuesday.

The Stars recalled defenseman Jordie Benn from the Texas Stars (AHL) on Monday.

Injuries: LW Lane MacDermid (upper body) is questionable.
