Thirteen Dallas Stars players started the month of November clean shaven and are now growing their best moustaches in support of Movember. Movember is a way to help increase awareness and raise money in support of prostate cancer and other health issues affecting men during the month of November.
Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas leads the Stars Movember team joined by players Tyler Seguin, Brenden Dillon, Alex Goligoski, Erik Cole, Vernon Fiddler, Dan Ellis, Lane MacDermid, Ryan Garbutt, Antoine Roussel, Jordie Benn, Alex Chiasson, and Kevin Connauton in the 30-day moustache growing movement.
The Stars organization will share pictures of the players throughout the month through their social media outlets and will encourage fans to participate along with the team. Fans can donate to the Dallas Stars Movember team to be entered into weekly drawings for autographed items. Fans that donate more than $200.00 to a player’s “Mo” before November 24, 2013 will also have the opportunity to attend the Dallas Stars Shave-Off Movember Party on November 30th at the Boardroom Salon for Men, where the players will shave off their mustaches, sign autographs and take photos with fans to show off their newly smooth faces.
Women or “Mo Sistas” are also encouraged to join the Movember movement by raising money to support the men in their life and acting as men's health advocates.
Fans can support the Stars Movember campaign by donating at the Dallas Stars Foundation table in Section 113 at American Airlines Center on Nov. 21, when the Stars host the New York Rangers. Fans also can contribute to the cause by donating through the Stars Movember page, until Nov. 30.
UT Southwestern is a proud sponsor of the Dallas Stars Movember team, and is making strides to improve men’s health, as well as overall health in our community, Texas, our nation, and the world.
