The Stars recognized former Dallas forward Loui Eriksson on the scoreboard during a TV timeout in the first period of Thursday’s game, but Eriksson didn’t see it because someone else had his attention at the time.
“I missed it actually because we had to talk to the coach there during that intermission,” Eriksson said. “I didn’t see it but I heard it was nice. I heard the cheers and everything so it was nice to hear.”
Fiddler draws ire of Bruins
There were no fights in Thursday night’s game, but there were a few scrums. Stars center Vernon Fiddler was in the middle of a couple them, drawing the ire of Boston defensemen Zdeno Chara and Adam McQuaid late in the first period.
“Their D played tough,” said Fiddler. “We’ve got to try to get inside their net and their D has to try to protect it as they can. We’ve got to try to break it down. We tried to go the net as hard as we could and they didn’t like that. It’s the game within the game.”
