About the Stars

The Stars (3-4-1) are coming off a 4-0 loss at Minnesota on Saturday. The Stars had a 29-15 shots advantage, but the Wild scored a shorthanded goal in the first period and then blew the game open with three goals in the third period. The Stars have lost four of their last five games (1-3-1) and in two of those four losses they have been shut out.

"We're not generating enough hard chances," Stars coach Lindy Ruff said. "I put that onus on the forwards. We are still looking for pretty when pretty isn't there. We have to get more people going to the net. We have to get more people looking for second opportunities."

The Stars announced Monday that RW Ales Hemsky will miss five to six months following surgery to repair a labral tear in his hip.

Tuesday's game wraps up a stretch of three straight on the road for the Stars, who will play 16 games in 30 days during the month of November.

Injuries: RW Patrick Sharp (concussion-like symptoms), RW Ales Hemsky (groin), C Cody Eakin (knee) and C/LW Mattias Janmark (knee) are on injured reserve.

About the Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets (3-3-1) defeated the Anaheim Ducks, 4-0, at Honda Center on Friday. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 35 shots for his second shutout of the season. Bobrovsky posted a 1.25 goals-against average as the Blue Jackets went 2-1-1 on a four-game road trip that started with a 3-0 win in Dallas.

"You can see in the past few games how hard we compete and work, how hard our defenders play and how responsible each guy is," Bobrovsky told media after the game. "It is fun to be on this team."

Brandon Saad and Sam Gagner both scored twice in Friday's win.

D Ryan Murray, who has been out with an upper-body injury, practiced Monday and is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday.

The Blue Jackets activated G Joonas Korpisalo from injured reserve Monday and assigned him to Cleveland (AHL).

Tuesday's game begins a two-game homestand for the Blue Jackets.

Injuries: D Ryan Murray (upper body) is probable. RW David Clarkson (lower body) is on injured reserve.
