About the Stars

The Stars (14-13-3) are coming off a 2-0 win in Los Angeles on Thursday. Kari Lehtonen stopped 40 shots for his first shutout of the season and Jaromir Jagr and Ray Whitney scored third period goals for the Stars.

“This is one where your goalie saves you in the first 40 and we picked up in the last 20. Certainly, Kari kept us in,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “It was a back-to-back and in back-to-backs you need your goalie to be good and he was tonight. Our goalie was our best player.”

Saturday’s game kicks off a five-game homestand for the Stars, who are 3-5-1 in their last nine games at American Airlines Center.

The Stars assigned RW Alex Chiasson and D Jamie Oleksiak to the Texas Stars (AHL) on Friday.

Injuries: RW Ryan Garbutt (hand) and D Aaron Rome (foot) are out.
