Frisco, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Mark Fistric to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League (AHL). Fistric will join the Moose in time for the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs.
Fistric, 22, was recalled by the Stars on Feb. 14 and appeared in 36 games with Dallas this season, recording a career-high points (0-4-4).
In 35 games played for Manitoba this season, Fistric earned eight assists with 26 penalty minutes. His +12 rating ranked him third among Moose defensemen. He was originally assigned to the Moose on November 2 from the Stars.
The Edmonton, Alberta, native has appeared in 73 career NHL games with the Stars, earning six assists with 66 penalty minutes. Fistric also played in nine Stanley Cup Playoff games with Dallas last season, going scoreless with eight penalty minutes. He was Dallas’ first-round selection (28th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
