Dallas Stars' General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Trevor Daley and left wing Mathias Tjarnqvist to the Utah Grizzlies, the Stars' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Daley, 20, has appeared in 17 games with the Stars this season, registering one goal and four assists for five points. Making his NHL debut on Oct. 25 at Columbus, Daley recorded his first career NHL goal on Dec. 10 at Phoenix and his first career NHL point on Nov. 12 vs. Detroit. In 11 games with Utah this year, he has posted three assists.
Tjarnqvist, 24, has played in 16 games with the Stars this year, notching two points (1-1-2). The 6-1, 183-pound left wing made his NHL debut on Nov. 12 vs. Detroit. He recorded his first NHL point on Nov. 21 vs. Los Angeles and his first NHL goal on Nov. 26 at Minnesota. His goal in Minnesota proved to be the game-winner. In 13 games with Utah in '03-04, he has tallied two goals and one assist for three points.
