LOUI ERIKSSON, NIKLAS GROSSMAN AND JOEL LUNDQVIST ASSIGNED TO IOWA
FRISCO, Tex. -- Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the NHL club has assigned three players to the Iowa Stars -- Dallas' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League. Left wing Loui Eriksson, center Joel Lundqvist and defenseman Niklas Grossman have all been assigned to Iowa.
Eriksson, 21, appeared in four playoff games for the Stars, earning one assist. The 6-1, 183-pound left wing played in 59 regular season games for Dallas, scoring six goals and 13 assists for 19 points with 18 penalty minutes.
Lundqvist, 25, played in all seven Dallas Stars playoff games, scoring two goals (including one last night in Game Seven at Vancouver). He also appeared in 36 regular season games for Dallas, scoring three goals and three assists for six points with 14 penalty minutes.
Grossman, 22, played in 67 games for Iowa this season, scoring two goals and eight assists for 10 points with 40 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 206-pound defenseman also appeared in eight NHL games with Dallas, going scoreless with four penalty minutes. Grossman did not appear in a playoff game for Dallas.
All three players will report to Iowa immediately. The Iowa Stars are playing in the first round of the AHL playoffs vs. the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, with Iowa leading the series, two games to one. Game Four of their series is Wednesday in Des Moines.
