by Staff Writer / Dallas Stars

FRISCO, Tex. -- The Dallas Stars announced today the National Hockey League club’s local television schedule for the 2007-08 regular season. All 82 contests of the regular season will be televised in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. This marks the 10th consecutive season for all 82 regular season games to be televised in the Metroplex.

“We are very excited about continuing our great partnership with My 27 and FSN Southwest, both which enable us to bring every Dallas Stars regular season game to our fans in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area,” said Stars President Jim Lites. “This will be another fun hockey season and we cannot wait to get it started.”

FSN Southwest, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2008, returns for its 15th season of carrying Stars telecasts, with 40 regular season games to be shown on the network. FSN Southwest provides quality regional, national and international sports programming to over 9.5 million cable and satellite TV subscribers in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico. The Stars’ home opener on Friday, Oct. 5 vs. the Boston Bruins is featured on the FSN schedule, as well as the club’s traditional New Year’s Eve contest, this year against the Nashville Predators (Dec. 31, 7:30 p.m.).

Thirty-five games will be broadcast locally over the air on My 27 (Channel 27), which returns for its eighth season of televising Dallas Stars hockey. My 27’s first Stars broadcast for the upcoming season will be at Nashville on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Versus will exclusively televise four Stars contests, including Opening Night at Colorado on Oct. 3. Other Stars games scheduled to air on Versus include: Monday, Oct. 29 vs. San Jose, Monday, Dec. 3 at Columbus, and Monday, Feb. 11 vs. Phoenix.

NBC Sports (KXAS-TV, Channel 5 in Dallas-Ft. Worth) has chosen two Dallas Stars contests as candidates to be chosen as the NBC NHL “Game of the Week” -- Saturday, Jan. 20 vs. Anaheim and Saturday, Feb. 17 vs. Detroit. In an exciting new twist to ensure fans are provided with the most exciting match-ups available, the NHL will offer flexible scheduling for NBC’s regular season dates. NBC will have nearly two weeks in advance of a particular weekend to select which games will air, and if NBC does not choose these two Dallas games, the Stars plan on making arrangements to televise the contests (networks to be determined).

Three of the start times for Dallas Stars games on National Television were changed by the NHL to accomodate the networks (Oct. 29 vs San Jose - 7 p.m., Feb. 11 vs. Phoenix - 6 p.m., Feb. 17 vs. Detroit - Noon). The attached schedule has been updated with the correct start times for all 82 regular season games.

News/Talk 820 WBAP returns for its 14th season as the flagship home of Dallas Stars hockey and will broadcast all 82 regular season contests and all playoff games.

Forming the broadcast team for the Stars for the 12th consecutive season will be Ralph Strangis and Daryl Reaugh. Strangis begins his 18th season as a Stars broadcaster while Reaugh will serve in his 11th season as the Stars’ color analyst.
