StarPoints For 4/10 vs Minnesota

by Travis Betts / Dallas Stars

Dallas Stars (36-31-14) @ Minnesota Wild (38-36-7)
7:00PM CT - Xcel Energy Center
Television - KDFI My27 HD
Radio - Sportsradio 1310 The Ticket

1.)  Tonght's game is the 82nd and final game of the season for Dallas and Minnesota, and the fourth head-to-head matchup between the two teams. The Stars are 36-31-14 for 86 points, while Minnesota is 38-36-7 for 83 points. The Stars lead the season series 2-1, with the home team taking each game so far.

2.)  Mike Modano. Mike Modano. Mike Modano. The Stars' franchise leader in every major offensive category has yet to make a decision on retirement, but tonight could be his last NHL game. The 39-year-old center will play his 1459th game tonight, all with the Minnesota/Dallas franchise. Only two players in league history (Alex Delvecchio and Steve Yzerman, both with Detroit) have played more games while spending their entire career with one organization.

3.)  Brad Richards has 91 points (24-67-91) on the season, matching his career high and his jersey number. The Dallas Stars record for points in a season is 93, set during the 1993-94 season by Modano. Richards has 27 multi-point games and five three-point games this season, so tying or breaking the record is not out of the question.
4.)  Kari Lehtonen will get the start in goal for the Stars tonight. In 11 games since coming over from Atlanta in a February trade, Lehtonen has a 5-4-0 record with a 2.81 GAA and a .913 save percentage. In his last five games, Lehtonen has stopped 152 of 162 shots (.938 save percentage).
5.)  One to watch for: Wild center Mikko Koivu leads his team in scoring, with 69 points (20-49-69) in 79 games. Koivu is in a bit of a slump, with just one assist in his last five games, but he has provided offense in each game against Dallas this season, scoring two goals and an assist..
