Ottawa Senators (37-29-5) @ Dallas Stars (30-27-13)
1:00PM CT - American Airlines Center
Television - FOX Sports Southwest
Radio - Sportsradio 1310 The Ticket

1.)  Dallas and Ottawa are facing off for the first and only time this season. Today is only the 24th time the teams have faced each other, the third fewest games the Stars organization has had against an opponent (Atlanta 12, Florida 23). The Stars lead the all-time series 13-8-2. The Senators have not visited American Airlines Center since Dec. 7, 2007, a game they won 4-2. The last Stars win against the Senators was a 2-0 victory almost five years ago on Dec. 15, 2005.

2.)  Netminder Kari Lehtonen is slated to get his third consecutive start in goal for Dallas. Lehtonen picked up his first win as a Star Tuesday against the Sharks. He was the First Star of the game, stopping 45 or 47 shots for an 8-2 Dallas victory. Despite Thursday’s 3-2 loss against Philadelphia, Lehtonen made one spectacular save after another to keep Dallas in it till the end.

3.)  Forward Steve Ott, typically known for his gritty and agitative play, has been on an offensive tear lately for the Stars. Ott is coming off a two-goal performance Thursday, his third multi-goal game of the season and second multi-point game in as many contests. He has collected 16 points (8g, 8a) in his last two games.
4.)  Brad Richards has tallied 10 points (9g, 10a) in 29 career appearances against the Senators. Last year, he registered an unassisted power play goal and had the primary assist on Loui Eriksson’s game-tying goal against Ottawa. Richards ranks ninth in the league in scoring with 77 points (19g, 58a) in 68 games. He is currently on a three game point streak, collecting one goal and four assists.
5.)  One to watch for:  Mike Fisher collected two assists when the teams met last season, including the primary assist on Jason Smith’s game-winner in overtime. Fisher has accumulated two goals and five points in nine career games against Dallas. The center is currently third on the team in points this season with 21 goals and 25 assists for 46 points in 68 games.
