.)  Tonight’s match-up marks the fourth of six meetings between the Anaheim Ducks and the Dallas Stars. The Stars have collected two wins against the Ducks so far this season and one shootout loss. The first meeting Nov. 7 in Anaheim was the first game in a Stars uniform for Mark Parrish, who scored the game-winning goal and two other goals for a hat trick, as the Stars won, 5-2. Anaheim stole the second game in the shootout, 2-1, Nov. 22 in Dallas. The Stars were able to rebound Dec. 27 in Dallas, 4-3, with a Mike Modano overtime goal.

.)  Steve Begin joins the Stars. Acquired via trade from the Montreal Canadiens, Bégin will be in a Stars uniform for the first time today. So far this season he has played in 42 games scoring six goals and four assists for 10 points on the season. The center ranked fourth on Montreal in hits with 119 and posted a 53.8 face-off percentage. Bégin will wear #44.

.)  Mike Ribeiro and Stephane Robidas recording serious time on ice. In Thursday’s loss to St. Louis, Robidas was on the ice for almost half the game at 28:34 minutes and Ribeiro logged 27:28 minutes. The former Montreal Canadiens have been two of the most reliable players for the Dallas Stars this season with Ribeiro playing in all 60 of the Stars games so far this season and Robidas missing only three games. Mike Ribeiro leads all forwards in time on ice at 20:45 minutes per game and Stephane Robidas leads the team in time on ice at 24:20 minutes per game.

.)  Tobias Stephan back with the Stars. The goaltender started five games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL posting a 4-0-1 record. Stephan was impressive letting in only 10 goals in those five games recording a 1.91 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Tobias Stephan played in the AHL last season with Iowa posting a 27-25-2 record with a 2.65 GAA and a .910 save percentage.

.)  One to watch for: Ryan Whitney, recently acquired in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins, has struggled to stay healthy this season but there is no doubt about his talent behind the blue line. Whitney will be playing his first game in a Duck’s uniform since being traded for Chris Kunitz Feb. 26. The Boston native has played in 29 games this season recording two goals and 11 assists for 13 points. The defenseman was drafted fifth overall by Pittsburgh in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and has posted 150 points in 254 career games. Whitney has played in two games against the Stars recording two assists.
