1. The Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks will meet for their first of six meetings on Friday night, the Stars went 2-2-2 against the Ducks last season – with their last four contests against Anaheim being decided by one goal. Dallas’ four wins are tied for the NHL lead in one-goal affairs this season.

2. Dallas’ 5-1-0 start is amongst the best in club history. Since moving to Texas, the Stars have earned victories in five of their first six games four times (includes 2011-12). Dallas has earned at least 95 points in the standings in the previous three campaigns that they started the season with five wins in six games.

3. Since the start of the 2010-11 campaign, the Dallas Stars have gone on eight winning streaks of three games or more (includes the current four game streak). In the prior two seasons before 2010-11, Dallas had just one winning streak of three or more games.

4. Dallas went 5 for 24 on the power play in the season series against Anaheim last season (20.8%). The only Western Conference teams they converted at a higher rate than Anaheim were the Chicago Blackhawks and Phoenix Coyotes (both 30.8%).

5. The Stars are on their second of 14 back-to-back sets for 2011-12. Dallas has a 1-0-0 record in the first game of a back-to-back, and a 0-1-0 record on the second day. The club finished with a 14-9-1 record in back-to-back games last season.

KARI LEHTONEN is on his fifth career winning streak of at least five games. Lehtonen has never won six-in-a-row. Lehtonen has a .945 save percentage (SV%) or higher in four of his five appearances this season.

STEVE OTT is currently on a five game point streak (2-3-5). It is just the second time in his career he has recorded such a streak (2008-09 had eight game streak, 6-6-12)

SHELDON SOURAY has one goal and four assists in his six appearances this season. Souray is currently tied with Erik Johnson (COL) for the defensive scoring lead amongst Western Conference players.
