This Season: 0-0-02/21/2012 – at MontrealFIVE THINGS TO WATCH:1.
The Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens meet for their lone matchup of the season on Tuesday night. Dallas is looking for their first win in Montreal since Nov. 12, 2002 (4-2 W). Since then, they have earned a 0-2-0 record at Bell Centre.
The meeting between the Stars and Canadiens on Tuesday night will be Dallas’ fifth trip to Montreal since the year 2000. By comparison, the Stars have been to San Jose a total of 35 times in that same span of time, including their two meetings in the Golden State earlier this season.
Dallas has won four of their last five games against Canadian-based teams this season (4-0-1 record). Their wins came against the Edmonton Oilers (twice, 4-1 and 4-1), Ottawa Senators (3-2), and Calgary Flames (3-2). Dallas’ lone loss was against the Toronto Maple Leafs in late November when they dropped a 3-4 decision in the shootout.
The Stars are one victory shy of earning their 15th consecutive 30-win season. It is the fifth longest current streak in the NHL with Detroit (21), Colorado (18), New Jersey (16) and Toronto (15) all having longer 30-win streaks than Dallas.
Dallas has earned points in 23 of 28 games when they score over two goals in a game (22-5-1 record). They have a 4-22-1 record when allowing three-or-more goals in a game.
