The Dallas Stars fell behind early, but scored four unanswered goals to defeat the St. Louis Blues, 4-1, at American Airlines Center Sunday afternoon. Derek Roy had one goal and two assists for the Stars. Erik Cole, Loui Eriksson and Jaromir Jagr also scored goals for Dallas, which has won three of their last five games (3-1-1) and improved to 11-9-2 on the season.
It’s a game of mistakes
After the Blues took an early 1-0 lead by capitalizing on a Dallas turnover, the Stars got goals from Erik Cole and Derek Roy in a 2:21 span late in the first off St. Louis turnovers to take a 2-1 lead.
Lehtonen bounces back
After surrendering five goals Thursday against Edmonton in his first game back from a groin injury, Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen was solid in goal against the Blues on Sunday. Lehtonen stopped 25 of 26 shots on the night.
Stars stay out of the box
Staying out of the penalty box has been a focus after the Stars were shorthanded nine times in Thursday’s loss to Edmonton. On Sunday, they limited the league’s top ranked power play to just one opportunity on the power play.
